#SundayReviews: "Alien: Covenant"

The Alien prequels continue with Alien: Covenant, this time starring Katherine Waterston and Michael Fassbender (playing two roles this time).

From Google:

"Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, members of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think to be an uncharted paradise. While there, they meet David, the synthetic survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. The mysterious world soon turns dark and dangerous when a hostile alien life-form forces the crew into a deadly fight for survival."

#SundayReviews: "Kingsman: The Golden Circle"

The boys (Taron Egerton, Colin Firth & Mark Strong) are back again, this time with Pedro Pascal and Julianne Moore added to the mix in Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

From Google:

"With their headquarters destroyed and the world held hostage, members of Kingsman find new allies when they discover a spy organization in the United States known as Statesman. In an adventure that tests their strength and wits, the elite secret agents from both sides of the pond band together to battle a ruthless enemy and save the day, something that's becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy."

#SundayReviews: "Star Wars: The Last Jedi"

Star Wars: The Last Jedi picks up right after the end of Episode 7, so I get the feeling that they're turning up the pressure and stakes in this venerable series. No breaks in the action!

From Google:

"Rey develops her newly discovered abilities with the guidance of Luke Skywalker, who is unsettled by the strength of her powers. Meanwhile, the Resistance prepares to do battle with the First Order."

#SundayReviews: "The Man from U.N.C.L.E."

Based on the television series of the same name The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is supposed to be a mix of espionage, action, and comedy.

Can this remake recapture the magic?

From Google:

"At the height of the Cold War, a mysterious criminal organization plans to use nuclear weapons and technology to upset the fragile balance of power between the United States and Soviet Union. CIA agent Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) and KGB agent Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer) are forced to put aside their hostilities and work together to stop the evildoers in their tracks. The duo's only lead is the daughter of a missing German scientist (Alicia Vikander), whom they must find soon to prevent a global catastrophe."

#SundayReviews: "What Happened to Monday"

So Netflix continues their assault on Hollywood's movie machine by making their own movies. This is to establish themselves in the marketplace, before they lose access to all of the Hollywood films in The Streaming Wars.

Their latest entry?

What Happened To Monday.

This film stars Noomi Rapace, Glenn Close, and Willem Dafoe.

From Google:

"In a world where families are allowed only one child due to overpopulation, resourceful identical septuplets must avoid governmental execution and dangerous infighting while investigating the disappearance of one of their own."

#SundayReviews: "Justice League"

So the super friends have finally formed the famed Justice League, and I can guarantee like with all DCEU movies (save one) there will be a lot of drama regarding it with the critics.

From Google:

"Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's (Henry Cavill) selfless act, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) enlists newfound ally Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes -- Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and the Flash (Ezra Miller) -- it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions."

#SundayReviews: "Paul"

So what do you get when a couple of British nerds decide to go on a tour of UFO hotspots in the USA? They of course run into Paul.

From Google:

"For the past 60 years, a wisecracking alien named Paul (Seth Rogen) has resided at a top-secret military base in America's UFO heartland. When Paul decides he has had enough of Earth, he escapes from the compound and hops on the first handy vehicle -- a rented RV manned by two British sci-fi nerds named Graeme (Simon Pegg) and Clive (Nick Frost). With federal agents and the father of an accidental kidnap victim on their tail, the two hatch a crazy plan to help Paul return to his spaceship."

#SundayReviews: "Thor: Ragnarok"

So for all us Marvel fans who wondered where the heck were Thor and Hulk while that whole "civil war" was going on in the last Captain America movie, they present Thor: Ragnarok. This third instalment for the god of thunder stars: Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo, Jeff Goldblum, Idris Elba, and Anthony Hopkins.

From Google:

"Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk, his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor's quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization."

#SundayReviews: "The Foreigner"

Well I guess it's Jackie Chan's turn to pull a Liam Neeson and play the super bad-ass brought out of retirement by tragic circumstances, and become a one man wrecking crew in The Foreigner (co-starring Pierce Brosnan).

From Google:

"Quan is a humble London businessman whose long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fuelled vendetta when the only person left for him to love -- his teenage daughter -- dies in a senseless act of politically motivated terrorism. His relentless search to find the terrorists leads to a cat-and-mouse conflict with a British government official whose own past may hold the clues to the identities of the elusive killers."

#SundayReviews: "Naruto: Shippuden"

Naruto: Shippuden (Hurricane Chronicles) is the story of Uzumaki Naruto, and his journey from the Hidden Leaf Village's pariah and clown, to its most popular and greatest hero.

It wouldn't make sense to list all the main characters and villains as they are too numerous, the most important however are the members of Team 7: Naruto, Haruno Sakura, Uchiha Sasuke, and their teacher/leader Hatake Kakashi.

From Google:

"More than two years have passed since the most recent adventures in the Hidden Leaf Village, ample time for ninja wannabe Naruto Uzumaki to have developed skills worthy of recognition and respect. The hyperactive youngster has trained extensively with Jiraiya-sama and returned to Konoha to reunite with friends and, perhaps, partake in more pranks than schoolwork. But Naruto is more determined than ever to become the greatest ninja, and his hard-earned improvements are put to the ultimate test against newer, stronger enemies. "Naruto: Shippuden" is adapt…

#SundayReviews: "Samurai Jack"

Samurai Jack is some of the best animation work ever done in the USA. Launched in 2001 on Cartoon Network, it recently came back for a fifth season this year.

Yes.

Jack is back.

From Google:

"After being sent into the future by evil wizard Aku, young samurai Jack makes a quest to return to the past and undo the destruction caused by the wizard. Along the way Jack enlists allies to defeat some of Aku's henchmen and other villains before getting to the top dog to defeat him and find the portal that can return Jack to his own time. "Samurai Jack" was created by Genndy Tartakovsky, who had previously created "Dexter's Laboratory," one of Cartoon Network's first original series."

So I set out to watch Reign of Assassins starring Michelle Yeoh, Woo-sung Jung, and Xueqi Wang.

From Google:

"A shopkeeper must, again, take up the sword of the assassin when her former partners-in-crime come to demand that she hand over the remains of a famous monk."

#SundayReviews: "The Hitman's Bodyguard"

Ryan ReynoldsSamuel L. Jackson and Gary Oldman star in The Hitman's Bodyguard. Granted, this is a silly title for a movie, but I have been reliably informed that a silly title doesn't necessarily mean the movie will suck.

In fact, my friends highly recommended it!

So off to the cinema I go...

From Google:

"The world's top protection agent is called upon to guard the life of his mortal enemy, one of the world's most notorious hit men. The relentless bodyguard and manipulative assassin have been on the opposite end of the bullet for years and are thrown together for a wildly outrageous 24 hours. During their journey from England to the Hague, they encounter high-speed car chases, outlandish boat escapades and a merciless Eastern European dictator who is out for blood."
