To see a World in a grain of sand, And a Heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour.                      -- William Blake PS: This is Post #1,400!!

Throwback Thursday

One of my best friends is getting married this weekend, so it's a perfect time to reminisce on the period in time where I formed my closest friendships: high-school! "Fortes in Fide et Opere" was the school motto, or "Strong in Faith and Work".

Throwback Thursday

Today's throwback is about a place instead of a person: the city of Boston . This is the city where I was forced to learn true self-reliance:

Throwback Thursday

Nobody has ever been able to get me to do whatever they want, except for my Grandma (my mom's mom).  I loved her immensely, and it was a joy to have known her. She taught me about proper manners ("want is in your pocket"), and insisted on my speaking proper English (no patois in her house). Thank you Grandma, and I miss our games of Go Fish. - QBF

Throwback Thursday

Today's reflection on a person who has helped shape my life is one of my most influential friends ever. It took his passing for me to realise this unfortunately, but as I was sitting in his funeral, I realised that my closest group of friends from high-school (to this day) were all due to him. It started innocently enough when he invited to play a game of Dungeons & Dragons with them, which I had played once before with my brother (hilariously). I enjoyed playing D&D, and they shared a love (obsession?) with comics -- and thus multiple friendships were born! Thanks Kevin, and rest in peace bro! - QBF

Throwback Thursday

Another acknowledgement to the people who shaped who I am today. This time it's my Dad (capital "D" because he's the Don). For most things in my life he is actually my role model, and to list all the things I've learned from him would be a Herculean task. However, I will boil it down to two simple things: (1) Do the right thing. (2) Everybody's lazy, but fight against it. - QBF PS: This is post # 1,234!!

Throwback Thursday

Today I'm doing something different and giving thanks to some of the people who have shaped my life for the better. The first person I would like to thank is my big brother. Even though we've had our ups and downs, he has always looked out for me from the day I was born, and I have learned many things about life from his triumphs, failures, and general approach to life. (Also, I learned what not to do, if I wanted to avoid getting a buss' ass!) Thanks big brother, I love and appreciate you immensely! - QBF
