Movie Review: "Resident Evil: Retribution"

The real mystery behind the Umbrella Corporation: "How can the Resident Evil franchise never die!?"

Clearly zombie franchises are just as hard to kill as their subject matter!

Resident Evil: Retribution is the FIFTH instalment in this series, which has given us Resident Evil (duh), then Resident Evil: Apocalypse (which would hint at the end of the world, if not the franchise at least), which begat Resident Evil: Extinction (surely the end with a name like that no?)...

Then they got trickier with the naming convention, as they brought this franchise back from the dead with Resident Evil: Afterlife.

Movie Review: "The Thing" (1982)

So the original 1982 version of The Thing... we meet again... at night... thirty years later!

Kurt Russell was good in this cult classic -- which isn't surprising -- but what is surprising is that this movie ages very well.

Despite the leaps in special effects since the early 1980s, this movie is still good because it's more a psychological thriller than a monster flick.

You Oughta Know: The Federal Drug Administration

So I watched this documentary on the Federal Drug Administration (FDA), which is currently being distributed via VODO, called "The War on Health: The FDA's Cult of Tyranny".

That's a very strong title, but I would be hard pressed to choose a better one after watching this... The corruption seems so blatantly obvious...

Movie Review: "The Ides of March"

The Ides of March features Ryan Gosling (Hollywood's best and most versatile young actor?) among a very talented roster of actors: George Clooney, Paul Giamatti, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

It is the story of what happens behind the scenes of an election.

It is also a story of what happens when you learn that in politics, you have to play others before they play you.
