Movie Review: "American Hustle"

Set in the 1970s, American Hustle is about a pair of con-artists ( Christian Bale and Amy Adams ) who have been recruited/entrapped by a (crazy?) FBI agent ( Bradley Cooper ). His plan is to use them to catch even bigger fish. Hilariousness ensues.

Movie Review: "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug"

So it's part 2 of the Hobbit Trilogy, aka: the shortest book set in Middle Earth, which has inexplicably been stretched to the length of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. But I digress... The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug stars the same (mostly short) heroes that were introduced in part 1: Ian McKellen (Gandalf), Martin Freeman (Bilbo), and Richard Armitage (Thorin).

Movie Review: "Bernie"

Bernie is a quirky comedy based off real life events. I cannot stress that enough. Truth is stranger than fiction, and Jack Black , Shirley MacLaine , and Matthew McConaughey seem perfect for their roles.

Movie Review: "Despicable Me 2"

Sequel time! The rule is every very good animated movie gets a sequel, so there was bound to be a Despicable Me 2 . (Why is there no The Incredibles 2?!?!?!) Steve Carrell is back, and joined by the voice talents of Kristen Wiig and Benjamin Bratt .

Movie Review: "Haywire"

I won't lie, I was hesitant to watch Haywire because it's harder to suspend my sense of disbelief for female action heroes. The whole "waif-fu" doesn't always work. This movie stars Gina Carano though so I should have known better... mea culpa! There are other big names in here as well: Ewan McGregor , Michael Fassbender , Channing Tatum , Michael Douglas , Antonio Banderas , and Bill Paxton . Still this is without a doubt Gina's movie.
