Movie Review: "Thor"

The movie which raised my hopes for the aforementioned Green Lantern . A surprisingly (hammer) smashing good time! Thor had great characters (which matched their comic counterparts), a good storyline (by J. Michael Stracynski), and awesome action sequences (paying attention here DC Comics?).

Movie Review: "Green Lantern"

As if to disprove the fact that I enjoy every super-hero movie made recently, there is Green Lantern . This movie should not have disappointed me, because my first reaction to learning of it being filmed was to cringe. However, after all the other surprisingly good super-hero movies recently, I dared to dream, and so raised my hopes and expectations... and had them choked out by large green hands.

Trick... or Treat?

Happy Halloween! (or All Hallow's Eve to be more proper ancient.) Yes it is that time of ghosts and goblins, kids (and adults) dressed up in costumes, the begging for treats (yes adults want a different sort of "candy" though), and the "tricking" of those who don't let off some sweet, sweet candy. There is some discussion on the exact origin of Halloween, the History Channel has a lovely website dedicated to it here , and of course the Alexandria's Library of our time ( Wikipedia ) has it's own page here . But enough of that whole learning thing, on with the entertainment! Namely, the late, great Michael Jackson's blockbuster of a music video: "Thriller".

Movie Review: "Captain America: The First Avenger"

So how good was " Captain America: The First Avenger "? Surprisingly good is how! Despite Cap being dubbed "the first Avenger", this movie is the last one setting up The Avengers movie due in 2012 (the prior ones were The Incredible Hulk , Iron Man 1 & 2 , and Thor ). This was not your typical super-hero movie, and was a great origin story for Captain America.

Movie Review: "Batman: Year One"

Whoa. This was all kinds of awesomeness! Batman: Year One is based on the Frank Miller mini-series of the same name, and follows it pretty closely -- which was a great idea.

Now that's some GREAT advice, but careful who you give it to! - QBF
