#SundayReviews: "X-Men: Dark Phoenix"

This is the end of the line for the mutants since Marvel now owns the intellectual property. Can X-Men: Dark Phoenix redo the classic comic story correctly, that was infamously terrible the first time (in X-Men: The Last Stand ), while using the same writer? I've got a baaaaad feeling about this... From Google: "This is the story of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey ( Sophie Turner ), as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX. During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all. Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet. The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that we’ve come to know and love mu...

#SundayReviews: "Atomic Blonde"

So everyone's an action hero now, even Charlize Theron ? OK, I'll bite. It also stars James McAvoy and John Goodman for good measure... From Google: "Sensual and savage, Lorraine Broughton is the most elite spy in MI6, an agent who's willing to use all of her lethal skills to stay alive during an impossible mission. With the Berlin Wall about to fall, she travels into the heart of the city to retrieve a priceless dossier and take down a ruthless espionage ring. Once there, she teams up with an embedded station chief to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies."

#MovieReview: "Split"

A new thriller from M. Night Shymalan? The twist must be it's a good movie. (ba-dum-pssh!) But seriously, Split stars James McAvoy , Anya Taylor-Joy , Betty Buckley , Haley Lu Richardson , and Jessica Sula . From Google: "While the mental divisions of those with dissociative identity disorder have long fascinated and eluded science, it is believed that some can also manifest unique physical attributes for each personality, a cognitive and physiological prism within a single being. Though Kevin has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher, there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey, Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him - as well as everyone around him - as the walls between his compartments shatter apart."

#MovieReview: "X-Men: Apocalypse"

It's time to visit those mutants again, but this time in the 1980s, and just in time for the X-Men: Apocalypse . Our main protagonists are back: James McAvoy (Professor X), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), and Michael Fassbender (Magneto) -- and they are joined by some new (old) X-Men. Of course, this time they are facing off against their greatest external threat: Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse). Can they stop him from remaking the world in his own image? More importantly, will we enjoy watching it?

Movie Review: "X-Men: Days of Future Past"

X-Men: Days of Future Past is the fifth in the movie franchise (sadly, the third movie is still accepted as actually happening) and blends together the prequel First Class with the earlier movies. It is based on a very popular classic X-Men story in the comic books of the same name, with tweaks to fit within the cinematic universe. It takes place in both the future and the past, and so many characters are featured!!
