Despite Cap being dubbed "the first Avenger", this movie is the last one setting up The Avengers movie due in 2012 (the prior ones were The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 1 & 2, and Thor).
This was not your typical super-hero movie, and was a great origin story for Captain America.
In case you haven't figured it out by now, I definitely think this movie is worth a Watch.
