The third (and final?) movie of Shellhead's trilogy -- Iron Man 3 was a visual and special effects masterpiece. Starring once again the usual cast of characters, namely Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, and Don Cheadle as Col. James Rhodes/War Machine/Iron Patriot; they are joined by two interesting new antagonists. Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin, and Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian.
So what happens when you try to mimic the epic comedy/fantasy film The Princess Bride in this day and age? You get (unfortunately) Your Highness . It stars Danny McBride as the idiot prince, James Franco as the uber-heroic prince, Natalie Portman as a warrior-babe, and Zooey Deschanel as the damsel-in-distress.
So I watched Iron Man: Rise of Technovore the other day, which seems to be an anime continuation of the Iron Man movie franchise, set after the events of The Avengers. It had quite a few characters from the Marvel movies too: War Machine, Hawkeye, Black Widow, The Punisher, and Nick Fury (with S.H.I.E.L.D.).
Ah the life of the pizza deliveryman! Who knew it could be so exciting? And more importantly, so funny? 30 Minutes or Less stars Jesse Eisenberg , Aziz Ansari , Danny McBride , and Nick Swardson in a new twist to the buddy-cop genre -- the buddy-crime genre!
30 Days of Night: Dark Days is the follow up to the surprisingly good vampire flick 30 Days of Night . Did I say follow up? I meant retarded step-niece. No offense to retards or step-nieces. The first sign of a bad movie? Different actress for the starring role. (In this case Kiele Sanchez replaces Melissa George .)
I haven't been a fan of the comedic talents of Ben Stiller in a while. I guess that's why I've delayed watching Tower Heist for almost two years. Add in Eddie Murphy and his recent dead bodies of work, and I had extra reason to pause. Casey Affleck is the next star billed on IMDb , but nobody watches a movie for him... But I finally watched it!
Claymation animation time! The Pirates! Band of Misfits stars Hugh Grant 's voice as the hapless "Pirate Captain", as he and crew bumble around the seven seas in search of treasure.
Well Megamind certainly isn't your normal superhero animated film for a number of reasons. Most important of all is that it stars the "villain". The second most important fact is that the villain wins!
