"Greed, for lack of a better word... is good." - Gordon Gekko in "Wall Street" uttered the line of the decade in 1987, when capitalism was king.
Fast forward 23 years, and is Gekko as interesting in "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" after the global financial meltdown?
For lack of a better word... yes.
The good news is that Michael Douglas as Gordon Gekko is still the most interesting person on Wall Street -- at a time when capitalism is now a serial killer on the loose.
The bad news is that it's by a wiiiiiide margin (sorry, Shia LaBeouf fans). The plot was way too simple for my taste, and the ending kinda had me scratching my head. Overall, I'd say the movie is just OKAY.
