Can DC pull a Marvel and bring a marginal comic character to the big screen and make a splash?

This had some awesome visual effects, locations, and underwater action scenes!
If I had to compare this to other movies, I would say it's part: Thor Ragnarok, Black Panther, Indiana Jones, and Jason Bourne. Quite a mix, and they pulled it off!
