Well we all had our fun watching the White House get blown up in the original, so why not check out the sequel: Independence Day: Resurgence?
Most of the gang was back (or acknowledged), but it was the new blood who were expected to do the heavy lifting in fighting off those pesky aliens.
To whit, the main cast is now: Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Jessie T. Usher, and Maika Monroe.
So what did I think about it? It wasn't as groundbreaking or shocking as the original, because all that world destruction has been done to death now -- but they still managed to find new ways to do it.
This is definitely another summer action blockbuster, and it was well put together, even including nice bits of humour (although some jokes seemed just a bit forced).
All in all I enjoyed my experience.

PS: The China-fication of Hollywood movies continues with some Chinese characters given major roles (initially), and we got to see some Chinese property annihilation.
