So I finally got around to watching Jupiter Ascending on cable.
Created by the Wachowski sisters (nee brothers), and starring: Mila Kunis, Channing Tatum, Sean Bean, and Eddie Redmayne, my only questions after seeing the trailer a couple times were:
1) How unintentionally hilarious would this be?
2) In what new way would Sean Bean's character die?
This movie took itself waaaaaaaay too seriously! It never realised it should've been an action comedy from the start.
There is a sequence in the middle where they try some levity, but it fell quite flat.
So to answer my questions:
1) No, it was too ridiculous for me to laugh at.
2) Sean Bean lived! Which just proves that the movie was doomed to failure from that part alone in the script. (He always dies!)
This film would have been better served as an animated Disney princess movie, then all the non-sensical gibberish would have been glossed over by the children who should've been the target demographic for this tale.
WASTE OF TIME.
