So HBO decided to take Scientology down a couple pegs with their documentary Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief.
Pretty much everyone knew they were a cult who believed in a funny space alien (except for the bottom rung cult-members) and were started by a science-fiction novelist. I'm sure most people didn't know about the other shenanigans they've been up to over the decades.
Now, I don't mean to cast aspersions on those kooky Mormons, but Scientology makes them look downright rational about their space fantasies!
Now you may say, people believe kooky things, that doesn't affect me. However, these people do some rather heinous and horrendous things in the name of their "religion".
As such, I'm re-instituting my personal boycott of anyone who I know to be a Scientology member (e.g. Tom Cruise and John Travolta).
I hope they get the help they need.
