So they finally rebooted TMNT, and gave us the Michael Bay version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
I immediately had misgivings about such a project and avoided watching it in the theatres even though it "starred" Megan Fox (as April O'Neil) and Will Arnett (as some old guy).
But all the main draws were promised: Donatello (the brains), Leonardo (the leader), Michaelangelo (the comedian), Raphael (my favourite -- the bad motherf*cker), Splinter (the sensei), Shredder (the Big Bad Guy), and the Foot Clan (people to get beat up).
What's the worst that could happen?
It was just as bad as the last Transformers, but somehow not as entertainingly bad (where you're laughing at the movie)... more boringly bad.
The amazing thing is the turtle characters were the best, most compelling that I've ever seen. The action sequences were well done, even if the scenarios and geography made no sense.
Also, Megan Fox's best scene involved her bending over and exposing her ass to the camera. Seriously, she should take more roles with less talking.
And of course, there were the ludicrous Michael Bay explosions.
Basically, to watch this I recommend rallying some good friends, and add some bottles of wine (like I did).
