Wow.
I saw The Dark Knight Rises this week, and it exceeded all my expectations by doing the impossible (in my eyes).
It obliterated The Avengers, my previous favourite comic book movie of all time, which only managed to hold its position for a mere two months.
It managed to surpass The Dark Knight, with the hard to over-hype performance by the late Heath Ledger.
This finale makes the Batman trilogy the second epic trilogy I've experienced (the other being The Lord of the Rings).
I'm not going to say that Christopher Nolan is a film-making genius, but he is the guy who casted Heath Ledger as the Joker (epic win), Anne Hathaway as "Catwoman" (win), and Tom Hardy as Bane (win). So I'm not going to argue if you choose to go down that path.
TDKR has the same good actors from before: Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, and of course Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman -- along with an interesting addition in Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake.
TDKR has an epic plot, and a running time close to 3 hours.
If you don't FEEL something visceral and emotional by the end of this film, it is too late, for you are in Elysium... and are already DEAD!! ;-)
This movie should be watched in a cinema IMMEDIATELY.
QBF Rating: 5/5
